Kid in Quarantine

The news was unexpected, the shock total. Chezky hadn’t been feeling well for several days, and a routine blood test revealed that he wasn’t just sick with a virus or bacterial infection. Chezky was sick.

We started chemo, while the tears and tefillos spilled like water. Chezky’s immune system began broadcasting signs of distress, and the doctor regretfully informed us that he needs to be kept out of harm’s way, protected from the germs that thrive in a happy, lively home.

A large family that has always struggled to make ends meet is suddenly forced to come up with the money to build a separate room for little Chezky.
